I once knew a girl,
The bright one in school.
She had many friends,
And was classed as cool.
She didn't care much about boys,
She tried to stay out of trouble.
She saw the happy side of everything,
Nothing was ever a struggle.
But somewhere along the line,
Everything changed.
And she went downhill,
Her life became so different and strange.
She disappeared for a while,
But no body suspected anything was wrong.
That maybe she just needed some time alone,
That nothing awkward was going on.
They didn't think her silence was odd,
Maybe she was just feeling sick.
No one bothered to ask,
Whether it was real or just a trick.
She was never who they'd expect,
They didn't think she could ever be the one.
No body payed attention to the fact,
That she no longer ever had fun.
Eventually someone realized,
They knew something wasn't right.
She pushed them away, she didn't want help,
She knew that nothing could take away the tears she cried each night.
But as time went by,
Things only got worse.
She knew that something was wrong her,
She felt like she was cursed.
She just kept pretending,
As if everything was OK.
She tried to block it out,
To make it through each day.
She was fading away,
As the days went by.
She knew she needed help,
She was messed up, but didn't know why.
She often wondered,
How she got in such a state.
It only caused her more confusion,
Her mind running faster than it's usual rate.
She'd gotten to the stage,
Where she didn't know what to do.
She was searching inside herself for an explanation,
Trying to understand what she was going through.
She didn't know what was happening,
She felt so lost.
She thought that it could make it all go away,
But instead, her life is what it cost.
