Silent Cry

by charity   Oct 8, 2004

She lies to her parents, she says she’s alright,
But a silent cry comes from her room, why oh why?
She asks herself, is it a crime to be born poor?
Or to be heavier than all the rest?

If I don’t go to school tomorrow will anyone notice?
No one notices her now, why tomorrow?
Would it be worth all the hurt,
Would it be worth all the pain?

As she waits for her parents to go to bed,
She writes a little not saying “I loved but no one loved back?”
She grabs a chair, a rope and a knife,
She stands on the chair puts her head through the loop.

She then slits her wrists with the knife,
Blood is rushing out,
She kicks the chair from under her,
A silent cry is no more.

As she reaches the gates of heaven,
She sees the face of God,
God says “no more silent cries,
Your with me now no one will hurt you.”

Beautiful, and well written. I hope this isn't true. I know how people hate being steriotyped as suicidal when they write depressing poems, so I won't jump to conclusions, but remember that even though someone is unloved it doesn't mean they're forgotten. Peace, love and empathy.
