each of her feet feel like they weigh a ton
and so she is pulled back into his wrath
back into his hands
the hands of a boy not yet a man
silenced screams and muffled cries
bleed into the lonely night
Her eyes shoot open as the alarm clock sounds
and it's funny how
when she looks around
she's back in her room
safe and sound...
