Never Really Were

by Nicole   Oct 9, 2004

The sun dips below the horizon
with it's bleeding trail
and I stand watching with tired eyes
waiting for you to come to me
back where you belong
and then the demons inside of me come out to dance and remind me to awake from my trance
I force a smile and hush them
but they're truthfulness haunts me even though I know they decieve...
you never came back to me that day
and now after the forgotten
letters
kisses
promises
and lies
I finally realize
that you never really were.
