Daughter of the earth

by Ashleigh Skye   Oct 9, 2004

She dances with the birds,
and flys with their song.
She sleeps with the stars,
as they guide her along.

She runs with the wind,
on the soft earth below.
She dines with the rain,
down the dark hollow.

She hears the footsteps of thunder,
running from a far.
As clear as the roar,
of an oncoming car.

She is the daughter of the earth,
the friend of the wind.
The one we can't see,
but on whom we depend.

The world she will protect,
until her dying day.
And rid the world,
of the human decay.
