The Face of Destiny

by Rose   Oct 9, 2004

My worrisome forehead,
Maps the riddles in life,
The unanswered questions,
Of this hopeless strife.

Engraved 'round my eyes,
Is the grief and despair,
Each soft line holds memories,
But utter.. I won't dare

On my blushing cheeks
Is where my tears trail along;
Drown my miserable lips,
and end their sorrowful song.

My own quivering smile,
works as prisoners keep,
For the truth and regrets,
From my soul wish to seep.

My face is a mask,
For a soul draped in gray.
Even my fragile disguise,
Bleeds my simmered dismay.

At times the waters,
Of my heart come to boil,
Life’s lurid serpent,
‘round my neck starts to coil.

There bares no escape
my heart gasps in grave splendor
one last breath falls alas,
And to this essence surrender.
