The Past

by Kristin   Oct 9, 2004

I walk into school,
a smile upon my face,
so happy to be living,
my past will not erase.

Even though I've been,
through hell and back again.
I think it's made me stronger.
What happened when I was ten.

I would rather not explain it,
but the scars may be revealed.
Under my clothes you will see,
the scars that didn't heal.

The pain is in my eyes,
but soon it will be hid,
my happy days of life,
having fun as a kid.

I hope no one will judge me,
for it was not my fault,
I didn't mean to live like this,
didn't want the pain and assault.

Now I am in school,
with a bright and happy face,
But don't ever forget because,
the past cannot be erased.
