Shadow

by Lance Hardy   Oct 10, 2004

You follow me everywhere,
You’re always in my way.
As I try to not care,
You sit there and lay.

It bugs me to see,
One as lazy as you.
Mimicking me,
Is all that you do.

Come out in the light,
How dare you stand tall!
You leave at night,
You’re afraid, that’s all.

I’m sick of your presence,
Leave me alone.
I am my own essence,
Not part of a drone.

Should this poem go under a different topic instead of miscellaneous? It was hard for me to think of what it is so I put under that.

I liked it. I thought that the last line of the first stanza was a little awkward, but the later stanzas are all really good.
