Choking

by Lauraballz   Oct 10, 2004

If kisses were water, I'd send you the ocean,
If you loved me back then I'd show you devotion.
I'd show the fire that flares in my eyes,
When you mention her name and smoke floods the skies.

I choke on the air, as you slowly confide,
Smiling you trust me, but wishing you'd lied.
These cruel bitter words are too much to bare,
It's breaking me down just to hear you still care.

How many times can my tender heart break?
Hope that I'm numbing to the risks that I take.
I can only wonder, as I call myself the liar,
Is it me you're really kissing? Or the vision you desire?

So in the hope that I've seen the worst I can observe,
I dive headfirst in and try to deserve,
The best of the best, but I always knew,
That the best of the best is someone else to you.

So forgive me for these words, it’s something I have to do,
But I can’t help feeling jealous and I can’t help loving you.

xXx
