The lights shining, the eyes staring at us...
I didn't think I would ever have the chance to dance with you.
The song seemed to go on forever, and Thank god.
Because feeling your warm presence is like a dream come true.

I looked up and saw you smile.
I tried to smile back but only tears fell
Man, I haven't seen you smile like that in awhile
I was too happy to smile, as you could tell

As the song came to an end,
I could hear all the claps and the cries
You started to come closer, closer for that kiss...
I slowly began to close my eyes

I felt everything disappear, I didn't want to open my eyes
I felt the pit pat patter on my head. Thats when I felt pain
My clothes, my hair soaking wet... I just had to realize
that this never happened and this whole time, I was dancing in the rain
