I'm starting to forget

by Roberto Serrano   Oct 10, 2004

I was once captivated by lips so full the moon seemed minimal in their presence,
So beautiful a rose captured her skins essence… and a kiss was love’s dressing,
But memories soon fade into the sands of time and I’m starting to forget,
I’m starting to forget the outlines of your eyes I once had memorized,
I’m starting to forget your voice and the way you use to spell your name,
The way I use to cry and weep then loose sleep because now… nothing remains,
I’m starting to forget the lies… the cries… and that once depth of your eyes,
Because we were once one but my special someone subtracted herself from my life and left me with none,
I now realize for hearts testify and I now know… I was too good for you!
My heart stayed true to you and you don’t deserve a tears worth of my cries,
I’m starting to forget the color of your skin tone and your once beautiful eyes,
I’m starting to forget but I keep forgetting what I was saying…
So I’m starting to forget what pain is and the definition of what love once was,
So that brings a tear to my eye because I learned to love from somebody who never knew… the meaning of true love,
So I’m starting to forget what you once meant to me…
So I’m starting to forget… because I just don’t want to remember any more!
So I’m starting to forget… because I just don’t love you anymore!
