What is Love

by Michael D Nalley   Oct 11, 2004

Love is a union of the wills
Hate is a division that kills
Love is the warmth that thrills
Hate is the ice that chills

Love calls for a warm sacrifice
Hate calls for nothing but cold ice
Love can lead us to eternal paradise
Hate can only lead us to a heavy price

We are to hate what is evil and love what is good
But there is something that is often misunderstood
As God is our Father we are all members of a brotherhood
But we often hate our brothers for not doing what they should

Yes, I know it is true that we always should do what is right
But even the best of us see things in a different light
So if out of the confusion, we should start to fight
We should remember love is to day as hate is to night

God is Love, Love is His Light, and He scattered this Light
We should not hate our brother, and turn day into night
My hope is that soon we will all see in the same light.
The truth will be one, and heaven and earth will unite
