Church and State

by Michael D Nalley   Oct 11, 2004

The fathers of this nation so great
Chose to separate church and state
The state would not discriminate
No religion would dominate

They must have anticipated
That some beliefs would be hated
We the people united stated
Love of peace domesticated

Home of the brave, land of the free
No fear of faith in unity
The state in which a church could be
If the people could only see

United we stand, divided we fall
Liberty believes in justice for all
All under God are free to search
To find the truth in any church

Truth is important for harmony
We the people must love to see
The true peace that was meant to be
Unity in diversity.
