One Question

by Robert   Oct 11, 2004

I was born from sin they would say,
And I know my parents have regretted it to this very day.
I was created from a mistake they could not take back,
A time where their morals did slack.
Then as I grew from child to man,
\I found I was never in their plan.
They left me with others so that I may go,
They laughed at my emotion and love and embraced my woe.
I was hard to see a life that was mine,
When I was cast away for a bottle of wine.
To this day they will not call me son,
But because of you I am no longer one.
You gave me love I never had in life,
So on this day I grant you my deepest gift will you be my wife?

good job, i liked this poem. i especially liked the line "What dreams come when we shuffle off this mortal coil?" i think you and i have alot of the same views about death, differences too. good job, i liked how you talked about faith and accepting death.
