Rain

by Incognito   Oct 11, 2004

I guess the rain is dampening
For the spirits of those who are free.
But the people in the world like me
Embrace the rain, and welcome
The darkness that it brings.
A place for us to hide; a shadow
Darkness in the light
A sewer drain to wash away pain
That bothers us in the night.
The freaky and the faceless folks
Admire the courage of those
Who desire a piece of limelight.
Then laugh at their misfortune
When they find it much too bright.
Storms will come, then they pass
And in the midst of chaos
They sneak away to await the day
The black clouds bring more rain.
