but the point is
it will die
it will not last forever
your first love will never last
you guys break up
or marry different people
or if you do marry and die
still together
you die
you are over
the love is over
the teeth you have
will one day fall out
and you will be left
with pink gums
you may have teeth again
fake teeth

they linger in your ears
for a few minutes
then it is over
the song stops being a song
stories never last
no matter what kind
of happy ending it has
they stop
they may be remembered
for a long time
but like the sun
it will die
and be forgotten
friendships never last
you have fun
you go out
you share promises and secrets
you twine your lives together
then you grow apart
is it not everybodys story?
you love each other so much
then for some reason
it just
stopped
no more
no more calls till late at night?
no more jokes
or funny stories?
cause you have forgotten
and found new people
you bury it all in the sand
write all your memories of her
on water
when you find new people
you do the same
meet the person
have happy times
then quiet times
soon you will
forget the times
and this is a cycle
that we all follow
but never realize that we do
maybe once in a while,
you will remember some memories
of that friend you once had
while you are alone
and sad
and desperate
and then you will think of the paper
you need to pass tomorrow
and your dog
and your mom and her nagging
your memories of her
just pass by
and quickly move away
aside from that
when you are with your friends
you will never think of her
you are having fun
i have lost a lot of friends
and it hurts me to think so
i have a lot of friends anyways
i meet new ones everyday
replacing the ones that have left
i know for sure that someday
these people i know
will just become familiar faces in the crowd
maybe if i am lucky
a few some will actually cling
and we will be happy
but then they must die
everyone has to die
save yourself from being
too attached
you know it is never gonna last anyway
so why dwell on it
you know it is going to hurt
save yourself the hurt and tears
people who believe

have gone through
the same hurt
the same tear shedding
that i have
i may be bitter
i may sound jaded
but things have happened
that have proved this
