Feelings

Sometimes we must change the way we are feeling
So that our heart, soul and mind can begin healing
We search for pleasure, but pain we wish to avert
It is natural for the hurt to want the offender to hurt

It is human to offend others doing things we regret
It is supernatural to forgive when we can't forget
I feel warm when I forgive my heart is not ice
O Lord how can we forget about Your sacrifice

It is the illusions of this world constantly teasing
But love is the only force that is constantly pleasing
Sometimes we put faith in many things that are not real
Constantly searching for things to change the way we feel

The only thing that can truly change the way I'm feeling
Comes not from my strength, but by humbly kneeling
If our feelings are a part of love and affection
We must amend our lives for our own protection
