Mother and daughter

by Emily Barclay   Oct 11, 2004

She sits at home alone,
This is where she cries,
She cries for her daughter,
As she prays to the skies,

She asks god to help her daughter,
To keep her on track,
She only prays for her,
Just to get her back,

She wants back her old daughter,
Whom she loved with all her heart,
She wants a new chance,
To make a fresh start,

She cries into her pillow,
And thinks she hates me,
Her daughters killing her but why can't she see?

Everyday she comes home,
To just more screams and shouts,
But does she really love me,
She still has her doubts,

She screams and yells at her mother,
And says some hurtful words,
Her eyes fill with water,
She turns and stares at the birds,

She wishes she could fly away,
Away from all the pain,
Rid of all the arguments,
Which are argued again and again,

She turns around to her daughter,
And stares deep into her eyes,
What happened to my daughter,
She ever so gently sighs,

Her eyes are so dark and empty,
She no longer sees her soul,
All she sees is a little girl,
A little girl who's not quite whole,

She goes to hug her daughter,
But she just steps away,
She leaves the room in silence,
She didn't know what to say,

She collapses on the floor,
And cries ever so gently,
What have i done so wrong,
Hasn't she ever loved me?

She goes into her room,
And hugs her while shes asleep,
She sees know her little daughter,
Who's memories she'll always keep,

She leaves and shuts the door,
Shes never felt so alone,
She doesn't talk to her daughter,
So her love is till UN-known,

She comes home the next day,
To find a note on the door,
Saying, mum i love you I'm sorry,
Inside shes laying on the floor,

She opened the door to find,
Her daughters lifeless body,
She cries and hugs her thinking,
She really did hate me,

She rocks back and forth,
Thinking of the old days,
She thinks of the memories,
And her daughters innocent ways,

She finds a tape on her daughter,
The last words she ever said,
These were her last words,
Before she put the gun against her head,

I'm sorry for the fact I'm doing this,
And all the things I done to you,
But theres one thing I want you to know,
Mum, I really do love you.
