My Guardian Angel

by Andrea   Oct 11, 2004

Did you hear that?
Oh, that must be her.
Shh, be quiet
I don’t want her to stir.

See how she takes care of me
Through all of the bad?
I could say anything
And she wouldn’t yell or get mad.

Watch how she brushes
Away my tears,
And sings a soft melody
To calm my fears.

With her beautiful voice
She covers my ears
So I cannot hear
My parents fight over the years.

She felt me
Shivering from the cold
So she tucked me into bed
With the blanket I now hold.

I slowly drift off
Into a deep sleep
And she comes closer
Until we almost meet.

She whispers in my ear
How much I am loved
And tomorrow night
Again she will come.

“Hush darling,
Everything will be okay
Just know I want
You here another day.”
