Nothing Left

by Unseen Exposure   Oct 12, 2004

For the first time in my life,
I don't know where to start,
I'm lost, broken, confused,
And it's ripping me apart,

Betrayal after betrayal,
My confidence wearing thin,
I need some safe haven,
A place where no one else has been,

Strip away my dignity,
Just tear away my pride,
Expose me for what I really am,
Behind nothing, I will hide,

Pick away at my scars,
And ignore the reasons why,
Look past my mangled insides,
And forget how hard I try,

Rip away my tear ducts,
And tell me no weep no more,
Laugh in the face of ridicule
Stare at my swollen eyes so sore

I'm tired, cold, and empty,
For days I haven't slept,
So go ahead, take it all away,
After all ... There's nothing left.
