Missing You (Part 1)

Look in your eyes
There's the essence of a child
You used to run and laugh
You used to play and smile

But the sparkle is slowly dimming
And the zest is fading away
Your slowly losing yourself
As you wake up everyday

You don't smile as often
And you put yourself down
You don't see what your really worth
And you never want anyone around

I keep trying to be here for you
But you push me away
Yet no matter how hard you push
I push harder your way

You've been my best friend for 2 yrs
And now I start to cry
Because your slipping farther away
No matter how hard I try

You used to want to live life
To every corner and full extent
You used to have this love for life
You knew you were happy and you meant it

You were given the gift of life
But we were given you
And you don't get how special you are
Or how much we love you

What happened to your sparkle
What happened to your shine
What happened to your smile?
What happened to that time?

You would do anything you wanted
And you never cared what people thought
You did stuff just for you
And I miss that about you a lot

It's hard to see that special smile
Any more these days
But we want to see it
In so many ways....
