Little Girl Lost

by Nicole   Oct 12, 2004

In the shadows I chase that girl

she's running from this sick cruel
world

she is screaming in anger and fear

there's echoes in the atmosphere

I can't go on, but..

can't leave her here

She's fleeing rapidly into space

she holds such beauty

yet she hides her face

Her eyes are red

and her legs are sore

she's slowing down

I can't take no more

I reach to her and turn her round

and what I see is quite profound

...Skin of mocha

Through eyes of brown

I see my own face

At last I'm found

WOW. OMG. This is a brilliant poem. its very simply yet so deep. i don't really like dark poems but this is in a different class. the rhyming and flow is sooooooooooo good. i'm rather amazed. one of the best poems i've read on this site actually. i like the bit about her holding so much beauty but hiding her face, its a shame but so many people are like that. xmollyxx
