Its Raining

by Robert   Oct 13, 2004

It’s raining like the day you went away,
although I am soaked I want to stay.
My hands are cold and the flowers I hold are wet,
and as I stand here I only feel regret.
I feel sorry for everything bad I ever said,
and I have no clue as to what lies ahead.
The rain hides my tears and the sadness I feel inside,
but my misery has nowhere to hide.
It walks with me and consume my life like you once had,
now I just walk in silence making myself go mad.
Your words I can never hear anymore,
and my life seems like an open sore.
My emotions, like my life are twisted in pain,
and the future I see ahead seems in vane.
I wish you were here to help me with this mess,
for the bills are stacked up and our children are gone and I can’t cope I must confess.
I will be here tomorrow, same time and same place,
for this is the only way I can be close to your grace.
Your picture I had put on where you rest,
I tried to do everything you asked, I did my best.
Here are your favorite flowers I guess its time for me to go,
but know love my life without you is a constant woe.
Sleep for that is all I can say,
for I will be with you soon I pray.

  • The begining was siply flawless.
So much sadness and sorrow in your words.
    Another amazing piece.

"Always wishing you were here to help me with this mess
Children gone, bills stacked up, I can't cope I confess"

the flow of your wonderful poem was a little disturbed by the line above. my advice is for you to remove it and then your poem would be simply perfection..

The emotion here was amazing! You truly had me feeling for the couple in this situation. The way you created this scene was flawless because I could easily see everything clearly in my mind making me enjoy the piece that much more. Loved it.

    Well done.

^^BEAUTIFUL opening, such beautiful imagery, and so much feeling.

"I wish you were here to help me with this mess,

    ^^Flow seems shaky..maybe something like:

Always wishing you were here to help me with this mess
Children gone, bills stacked up, I can't cope I confess

Other than that, this is perfect.

The emotion in this piece is overwhelming, without being overbearing. Your use of imagery is splendig, and apart from those lines I mentioned above, flow is perfect throughout.
