No Desire

by Michael D Nalley   Oct 13, 2004

Lord, I was born with natural desires
All the rains cannot put out all those fires
Desires burning like a thirsty passion
For the worldly beauty You did fashion

No desires since time began
Are not in the heart of man
You have a different plan
For us to be all that we can

With no desire to be eternally cursed
Every man has a heavenly thirst
In Your grace to be immersed
No desire should be sought first

No desire can lift me any higher
No desire puts out the natural flame
No desire, like the Sacred Heart’s Fire
No desire that burns in the heart is the same
