Roses

by kel   Oct 13, 2004

I watch a rose grow,
From start to finish,
It blooms so bright,
But withers to darkness.

Now see the beauty of the roses,
While everyone stands in awe,
I stay back from their growing love,
For i refuse to face them.

I lock myself away,
So that never again,
Will they touch me,
Will they touch my soul.

Petals fall to the ground,
Like the tears glistening in my eyes,
Running down my cheeks,
Like the petals floating away.

But never again will I see,
The beauty of the roses,
Cos they still haunt me,
They still taunt me.

Because of that day,
When i saw you,
Blue and lifeless,
Lying in a bed of roses.

:( sad, especially at the end. Well done for making such a passionate symbol so dark and depressing..
