Too Late

by Nicholas   Oct 13, 2004

As I look out the window,
it's pouring down rain
And though it doesn't show,
I'm only feeling pain,
Sorrow, Grief, Dementedness,
No reason to even live
So as a bolt of lightning hits,
I decide to give.
I solemnly walk to the bathroom,
Toward the cabinet,
I catch my own reflection,
My cheeks and eyes are wet.
This image disappears,
As the mirror moves away,
To reveal medications
Commonly used everyday.
None of these pills though,
Aide me in my quest.
So I grab a pack of razors,
Take one and toss the rest.
Then I walk back to the bedroom,
Slowly pick up the phone.
I'm not backing out,
I just don't want to die alone.
Then I dial a number, and
As it begins to ring,
I begin to slice,
My wrists begin to sting.
Finally you answer,
And as I begin to cry,
I tell you what I'm doing,
But I don't tell you why.
I do, though, say "I love you"
As my vision begins to fade.
But I don't hear the answer,
Because it's too late.
