Eternity

by Sinister Soire   Oct 13, 2004

A flower grows and fades,
A fruit ripens and rots,
The leaves change and fall,
The children go inside to play,
The tree remains

The flowers bud and sprout,
The fields turn green and gold,
The birds return and nest
The children arrive to work,
The tree remains

The forest becomes dark and damp,
The animals are different now,
The sun is not so bright,
The children pack up and leave,
The tree remains

There is nothing left,
Nothing can survive,
The animals have left,
The people are gone,
The tree remains
