No Need

by Michael D Nalley   Oct 14, 2004

No need to dwell and wonder why
In the place that told that old lie
Go on eat the fruit, you will not die,
No need for paradise say good-bye

No need for this worldly disgrace
Not for us to perfect this place
Where death does not show its real face
No need for Love, no need for grace

No need for the creature void of form
To search for someone so soft and warm
While Eve lies in her lonely grave
Given Love for her soul to save

No need to go into that place
To the void of a cold dark space
We need the altar where we knelt
To feel the Love that we once felt

We need Love where there’s despair
Love of the One who does care
Yes, where there is Love, there is hope
For those at the end of their rope

No need for the void, no need to fear it
Fill the void with Love if you get near it
No need for hate, we need the Holy Spirit
Lord, we need the word, and we need to hear it

We need to believe in the Love
That fills the empty void above
Like these words of my rhythm and rhyme
Our Lord’s true colors frozen in time
