My Heart

by Dianna   Oct 16, 2004

My heart
Is such a fragile thing
The most sensitive part of my body
It controls my moods
Whether I'm happy or sad
Whether I've good days or bad
It controls who I am
It controls my life
And since it's owned by you
You control it
You control me
You want to see me blue
The way I'm always feeling
Otherwise,
You'd be here
To give it warmth and healing

My heart
Was such a precious thing
I gave it to you,
And it lost its preciousness
Coz you didn't take care of it, the way that you should
The way that you promised, you would
You didn't feed it with love
And that's not good
You didn't nurture it
You didn't let it grow
Instead you let it fade away
Like a flower in the snow
It's always crying
There's no denying
It has been lied to, tossed around, broken and scarred
And now it's dying

Take my body,
And break any bone
As long as you leave my heart alone
But now, it's too late
Coz my heart,
Which used to be a warm, vivid unit of light
Is now a dark, cold, breakable stone
Thanks to you,
I hold,
The greatest emotion of pain I have known

I remember a quote goes like "your heart is precious, its not a toy, if you want it broken, give it to a boy"... sorry for that random quote... anyway, good poem, I liked the structure and the flow :) Wish you the best with your love life... take care :)
