Tupac Shakur

by hayley williams   Oct 16, 2004

I was just a kid when you came along
Made me take off my rose tinted glasses
Let me see the world through your eyes
As you spoke out loud to the masses

You only ever spoke the truth
Things other people tried to hide
You taught me not just about my pain
But the suffering happening worldwide

My life started to make sense then
Because I felt that you understood
Until I welcomed you into my life
I never even knew about the hood

I was ignorant to poverty and racism
Did not know that hate even existed
I realized my world was so protected
From all things sick and twisted

You fed my constant need for truth
Eventually shattering away the lies
When no one else told me the truth
You helped me peel away the disguise

I continue to learn from you today
As my hunger for knowledge grows
Listening hard to every word you say
All of the pain you have to expose

I love Tupac. To me he wasn't just a rapper he was a born leader. he spoke for people like me who grew up in the ghetto and had a friend or family member that were in gangs and got shot or killed by a other gang members. He was somebody who was going to make a differance and did.
