On My Knees

by Emily   Oct 16, 2004

Down on my knees. Looking into your eyes, asking if I’m even worth your time. My prayers seem so meek and unimportant. As a child prays for family they sit sad and yet never alone.
Your eyes so full of pain for us, but have we let you down? Oh loving Father, I hang my head and the tears I begin to shed. The hurt we must cause when we push you away.
Your arms are always open, waiting for that one stray sheep. Thousands are lost looking for your love, too scared top admit they have gone stray.
Seeing the blood and the look on your ever loving face, I’m ashamed for the way many act. Not knowing they hurt the man that gave them life.
We are on our way oh Farther, we may stumble and get lost on the way yet we push on. Knowing that no matter how long I should take your arms are waiting.
Down on my knees I wonder why. I’m forever in your debt, but need you even more. I know you are always there to led that helping hand, and you are always there to dry the tears that role down my face.
