How Can

by Aymon F   Oct 17, 2004

How can you cry on Christmas?
How can you sob with Santa
How can you tear on Thanksgiving?
How can you howl on Halloween?

How can you snivel on a rollercoaster?
How can you shed tears at the beach?
How can you wail in your sleep?
How can you sit at a party and weep?

You can if you lost your true love
You can if she simply said its done
You can if she had told you she loved you
And now she says ‘Well we had fun’

You can if you see her each day
You can if you love her, so you stay
You can if there’s no chance of renewal
And you can’t stop loving her; you see her at school.

How can you start to fail classes?
How can you feel a sad that never passes?
How can you stay in bed for hours wide awake?
How can you think that all people are fake?

How can you question the value of life?
How can you be tempted to get a knife?
How can you wonder if you should get out of bed?
How can you think its better to stay there instead?

You can if you have feelings for a girl
You can if she loved for the first time in four years
You can if you had something that made your head swirl
And was ended with ‘Cheers’ and only you shed the tears.

You can if she seems just as happy as before
You can if she came up to your face and closed the door
You can if she once told you that you would be wed
And then she lost the love we shared instead

How can you cry on life’s ride?
You can if you’ve died inside.
