I never do

by Mild insomnia   Oct 17, 2004

Oh I long to drag that blade.
It just sits upon my wrists,
Pleading me to,
Begging me to,
But I never do.

There's little chance it can persuade,
Me to slit,
But it wills me to,
It dares me to,
But I never do.

There's actually a little cut there,
If you look close enough,
I pressed a little too hard once.

When I'm really down, at the end of they day,
Here I will sit,
And it wishes me to,
It orders me to,
But I never do.

It's total co-incidense that you call,
Just as I get too close,
Stopping me each time.
I'm lucky.

When I hang up,
And the blade's back, safe in the drawer,
I don't think about it.

Still it whispers to me,
And beckons me,
But I never do.

I think it's good how you "never do" If only everyone could "never do". Ypu're lucky you can stop yourself in someway, most people have no control and find themselves addicted. well done. Please check some of my poetry out. <3 Emz
