Always remembered

Why did god take you from us?
Why did you have to leave?
I miss you more and more everyday,
The pain in my heart will never cease.
Today is your birthday,
You would have been seventeen,
But 4 years ago you left us,
And twelve was the last that we seen.
I’m trying not to be sad,
To remember all the good,
But I’m running out of memories,
And I never thought I would.
It’s tearing me up inside,
At night I often cry,
All I want is to see you one more time,
So I can finally say goodbye.
You are always by my side,
Last night I could feel you with me,
That’s why I was so happy,
I set my worries free.
I’m trying to let you go,
But it’s too hard I can’t cope,
So I close my eyes as my tears fall,
The sad ones hold no hope.
Goodbye Sam I miss you,
But I can’t go one this way,
Each day I’m dying inside,
Because goodbye I could never say.
So now I have said it,
Although very hard it was,
I will try not to cry because you’re gone,
I will cry just because.
