I carved A "V"

I carved a “V” upon my arm
Not intending any harm.
Just to show how much I cared,
Just to show all that we shared.

As the blood dripped on to my leg,
The voices in my head began to beg.
I told myself this wasn’t about pain,
It was simply my way of staying sane.

I told myself that we would always be,
I knew he was the one for me.
I loved him so, maybe too much,
But now I long for only his touch.

So many tears over you I cried,
So many times to me you lied.
So many times I gave you all,
So many times I waited for your call.

When I told him, it was too late.
For his love had gone to hate.
He said: “Find a Valentin or a Vincent!”
Yeah, he’s stubborn, I’ll never convince him.

I am not trying to be cute or clever,
I only wanted us to last forever.
I carved a “V’ upon my wrist,
Only wishing to be kissed.
