Once More

by Timothy   Oct 18, 2004

Somehow, I did the wrong thing,
And again I made crucial mistakes;
I am cold-hearted, a verifiable cynic,
Gambling, with your heart as the stakes.

I have wounded you,
I don't know if there is a coming back;
You upset me first, but this shouldn't be,
A retribution...an outward attack.

The past can not be changed,
Only a wise person learns from his sins;
I am asking---no begging...
Can you forgive me? Once more...again?

    To me this poem describes feelings when you have cheated on some one. Touching and well put.
