Their lack of heart

by Casey   Oct 19, 2004

Everything they do
Every word that is spoken
Makes me feel helpless
Like my body has been broken.

The ones who let you think you mean something.
The ones that say they love you
And the ones you say it back to
Even though you both know its not true.

Who do you trust with your secrets?
What about the ones that let you think you belong?
How long will it take
For them to prove you wrong?

What about the chances you missed?
You burnt those bridges to the ground
Theres no turning back
After you realize theres no one better to be found.

The ones that keep you up all night
Trying to figure out the point to their games
Does it make them feel better
To know you will never love the same?

The lovers that lie
The friends that stab you in the back
The ones that let you let go
They're all the same in the heart they lack.
