Facing Worlds

by Bryce Ellner   Oct 19, 2004

The shadow beings to crack
And then falls away
Stare now into the mirror
To a crystal world.
Ice brandished trees
And ever-falling snow
Cover this white emerald world
And it's silver rivers and seas.
Then comes a world of orange
As fire spouts from gouges in the Earth.
Terra firma is stained black with char
And glowing embers fill the sky.
These two worlds, suspended in time
The same yet different
Of Ice and Fire.
Yet once on in the same.
If this were to be the fate of the world
On our side of the mirror
Which would you choose?
A world on fire or one frozen forever?
Shall you choose a world of ice?
On of beauty but never growing
Or choose a world of flame?
That never stops burning...
