One day I'll be Loved...

by brin macnamara   Oct 19, 2004

My life blood seeps from me
As wounded by love my emotional sores lie open, gaping and infected
for all humanity to see.
Smelling my perceived necrotic superficiality all who pass sneer, turn away looking for the beauty that forever eludes me.

Sacrificed daily upon the altar of ridicule my self esteem
lies dilapidated, crying out for resuscitation.
No Samaritans come my way
For blinded by their own arrogance few see beyond my veneer of ugliness,
They see not that I cry out to be listened to,to love,to aspire beauty.

Not in this life will I taste the nectar of passion or of love.
My creator alone knows the sincerity of my soul,
Only he listens to my prayers,my lamentations.
Only he sees what beauty lies within.
He will grant me deliverance from this mortal Hades'
'Til then, One prayer I make: May I be Loved as I Love.
