Finding Herself

by Amie   Oct 19, 2004

She's sitting,
in the middle of the room.
Everything is bare,
nothing surrounds her.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.

She's sitting alone,
with nothing but her thoughts.
Her fists clenched tightly,
staring at the wall.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.

At first glance,
she appears happy.
But if you look closer,
you can see her tear stained cheeks.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.

She keeps everything,
suppressed inside her.
Not letting it show,
fearing how people will react.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.

But all her sadness,
goes through her.
With every pulse her heart beats,
it grows stronger and stronger.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.

The darkness of the shadows,
cover her body.
Soaking into her veins,
she's feeling it creeping through her.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.

One day,
she will leave this room.
Lock the door,
never to return.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.

She will be able to move on,
and see the things to live for.
But until then,
she will sit silently in this bare room.
No one understands,
so she will not make them.
No one knows,
so she will not tell them.
