These Hidden Scars

by Amie   Oct 19, 2004

They laugh,
they make it all a joke.
While I'm sitting there,
embarrassed and in pain.

It's their fault,
they did it....they-did-it....
I did not....no- not my fault....
or is it?

I feel so stupid-
wait....I-AM-stupid!
But they show it,
to everyone around.

They laugh,
at my embarrassment.
Make fun of it,
these scars I hide.

They forced eyes upon it,
that I did not intend.
Every time I see these scars,
it inflicts pain within me.

She says,"You'll probably go home,
and never come back."
He says,"Wouldn't you feel bad,
if she didn't." They both laugh.

I hear this,
as I sit between them.
They act as though,
I'm just their object of amusement.

Do they not understand?
Can they not see?
But tomorrow I will face it,
and ignore their laughter.

I hope this isn't about you, but if it is, people who don't cut, just dont' understand. There are others that you can talk to. You are never alone. Beautiful poem.
