Scars

by Zachariah Jones   Oct 20, 2004

I remember seeing the look in your eyes
I can still hear your heart
I can feel the tears in your eyes
Sometimes I get this feeling of doom
Don’t worry I’ll be home soon
The time we shared, will never be forgotten
The times we spent apart
This sickening feeling will be remembered in my heart
All this time spent away and all this pain
None of this was ever in vain
I have opened my heart for real this time
Not allowing to love is the biggest crime
I can feel the wind beneath my eyes
The tears dripping further and further down
One more day I must wear this tainted crown
Being king of yet another broken day
Heart fills with hurt and dismay
I look forward to that day when the sun isn’t black
Time when I turn around and finally get back
No more wasted tears and bleeding eyes
No more hearing your terrorizing cries
Only a few more days to endure this
Only to absorb your pain and hurt
You’re not alone in what you feel
No more feeling my heart peel apart
Turn your wet eyes and look at the stars
You’re not the only one who bears these scars
I honestly don’t know how we endure this
At the end of the tunnel is when we’re together
Only eternal sunshine and happiness
