I stand Here

by Robert   Oct 20, 2004

We have slept for years and now we stand here,
with all out hopes and fear.
No one has come as far as we came,
in theory or in name.
I have been here in my mind,
for our true destination was so hard to find.
My feet on soil that none have stepped,
on a world that our dreams were kept.
Away from war and starvation,
a place where we may finally see our salvation.
Parents, and bothers that were lost for no reason,
have beckoned us to this new world and renewed season.
I bend down let the soil spill out of my fingers,
letting only the promises of my family linger.
For they gave their life so that I maybe alive,
far beyond the world we were born we came to survive.
The life and the world are dead to me now,
and look at the world ahead I just have to say wow.
