Dependent

by Sarah Christine   Oct 21, 2004

A single soft whisper,
the gleam of your eye,
I know the time is coming
for you to say goodbye,
the uneasy feeling
that runs through my vein,
connected to my heart,
engulfed by inevitable pain.
If you were to leave,
who would I be?
Lost in a sea of others,
it is you that completes me.
A needy feeling
that grows ever so strong,
an unusual feeling,
that has devoured me
for so very long.
If you left,
would you look back?
To see a fragile girl
confused, not knowing
where she's at?
Without you by my side,
I would have no one to turn to,
yet everywhere to hide.
Have I become to dependent
on your love for me,
or have I lost myself
in something that's meant to be?
A single soft whisper,
the gleam in your eye,
I pray the time never comes
for you to say goodbye,
for without you in my life,
my soul would surely die.
