Small Star

In all the world I see,
everything is so dark,
all but one small star,
who burns bright and stark.
I am lost in the darkness,
and stumble to get to you,
I can't see where I am going,
but somehow I must make it through.
once I get to you,
everything will be alright,
you will make the darkness,
turn into peaceful night.
one time I found you,
and life was so grand,
but you ran away,
and stopped holding my hand.
no matter how I try,
you seem to get further away,
you are running from me,
taking away my only light ray.
please stop your running,
let me back into your arms,
I have to have your protection,
from all of Life's harms.
once, what seems long ago,
you loved me as I do you,
I will always love you such,
but my small star will you ever again love me too.
