My Poem To You (To Mark BIGBIRD)

You've Read So Many Of My Poems
Ones I Don't Think Are The Best
Now You've Seen One Part Of Me
I Want You Too See The Rest

I Wish You'd Seen That Little Girl
And What She Used To Be
She Had The Deepest Eyes
And A Pure Heart To See

Its Sad She Isn't Here Anymore
She Had To Go Away
She Didn't Want To Leave
But She Knew She Couldn't Stay

She Was A Normal Little Girl
Very Happy And So Pure
Now She Has This Decease
To Which They Have No Cure

The Poor Little Thing Was Swallowed Up
By Depression As You Can Tell
Sad How People Just Watched On
When She Slipped And Fell

Sadly Rape Happens To The Innocent
The Ones Who Have Done No Wrong
Little Girls Exactly Like Her
Who Just Aren't Really That Strong

She Was Only Thirteen Then
Way Too Little To Ever Fight
Yet She Learned Very Well
At Pretending Things Were Alright

She Learned To Fake A Smile
To Keep Her Eyes Focused On The Ground
How To Pretend To Laugh
And To Only Cry When People Weren't Around

But She Disappeared So Very Long Ago
Went To The Land Of Broken Little Girls
Thats Were Lost Little Girls Go
When They Don't Belong In This World

I'm The Memory Of That Little Girl Now
Pretty Soon In Fact Ill Be Fifteen
Up Until Now She's Never Returned
She Was Lost And Never Seen

But This Is Were The Story Gets Better
Instead Of Like Always Getting Worse
A Little Came Right Along
And With Love He Broke The Curse

He Saw Into A Withered Shell
A Place Were No-One Else Could See
Bring Me Out From Hiding
To A Place Were Fear Couldn't Be

He Took My Fake Smile
And Did What He Must
Made It As Real As The Sea
And Added A Little Glimpse Of Trust

He Even Took That Laugh
The One Id Learned To Pretend
Threw It Into The Flames Of Eternity
Were It Would Stay Until The End

He Even Helped That Little Girl
That No-One Had Seen In So Long
He Regained The Trust Others Lost
And Promised To Do Her No Wrong

Its Been Nearly A Single Year
Since We All Lost That Little Girl
But Now That Little Boy
Has Made Her A Place In This World

He Doesn't See What Others See
Or The Coldness In Her Eyes
Instead He Finds That Little Girl
By Following Her Whimpering Cries

He Even Made Little Place
For Where She Can Come And Play
He Doesn't Mind When She Wont Come Out
Or If Shes Having A Rainy Day

He Knows He Cant Erase Her Past
Or Everything Shes Been Through
But He Wakes Up Every Single Day
To Help Her Wakeup Too

But He Really Loves That Little Girl
That Isn't So Little Anymore
He Picked Up The Broken Pieces Of Her Heart
That Were Left On The Cold Floor

So Nearly A Year To The Day
That A Little Girl Disappeared without A Trace
A Little Boy Found Her Again
By Looking In The Right Place

We All Thought We Lost That Little Girl
To A Tragic So Terribly Unknown
But With A Little Boy By Her Side
She Wont Face This Year Alone....
