I went to a funeral today.....

Today I went to a funeral
for a girl my ages dad
and I couldn't help but cry
for the lucky chance I had.

Her dad had a heart attack
just like mine
but her dad didn't get the same chance
but she said it was fine

She wasn't crying because of death
she said she cried for new life
she told me how her dad
lived a wonderful life

Her dad had millions
he was a pro football player
he had a wonderful family
with wonderful hearts that flared

My dad might not have millions
or had play pro ball
but my dads life compared to hers
didn't seem so small

Like my dad he had family
and plenty of people to care
and also like my dad
the money wasn't always there.

It made me realize
that the day my dad dies
I wont be crying tears of sorrow
but tears of joy and new life
