Shining Down (In memory of Natasha)

by Ashleigh M   Oct 22, 2004

That night you were found,
Your life came unbound.
And everyone that knew you cried.
Why did you have to go that way?
It could have been worth it to stay for one more day.
Instead of hanging yourself in your room,
Things could have brightened up soon.
But you felt too helpless to try.
The next day in school,
all our tears formed a pool
in which we could all see your face.
With memories sound
and no happiness found,
500 of us cried for your fate.
When your funeral came,
we acted the same.
But the pastor gave all of us hope.
Nate sang your special song
as we wearily sang along
and hoped you could hear us somehow.
And now, with every memory bound
we look up and know that you are always shining down.

**In loving memory of Natasha Anne Hurlburt...**
this is a true story...Tasha hung herself in her closet one night because of all the pain and suffering she dealt with from many sources on a daily basis. Please think about what might NOT become of your life if you end it too soon. Suicide is something no one should even think about and if you do, please also think about the people who would also have to suffer a loss. Even if you think no one cares for you, there is always someone who does. If Tasha could have seen before she died just how many people mourned her death because they cared about her she may not have done this to herself. Please remember someone always cares!!!

please take the time to read and vote and comment...i want to know what you all think...thanks :)

Oh, sad, very sad. I could never imagine having a friend commit such a life-selling act, must've been terrible! You wrote it well, keep writing!

My very best friends father just killed himself a couple of weeks ago and I can't understand why, his daughter can't understand what was that bad in his life. He was sick but it sucks to think he was in that much pain. I don't know, But that was an awesome poem!! Sorry to hear that it is a true story though.
