Don't Go

by Jackie Bilson   Oct 23, 2004

He was thirteen and I was fourteen,
The most loving couple you've ever seen.
But summer came and I had to fly,
And it hurt me so much to say goodbye

"Don't go," he begged. "Stay with me."
"Without you I don't know what life can be.
Let your heart beat next to mine
and stay there 'till the end of time"

A month went by and we stayed close,
We argued who missed the other most.
But I was back and you loved me still,
And you knew I loved you, and always will.

"Don't ever go," he begged again. "Stay with me."
"Without you I now know how life can be.
I need your heart beat next to mine.
And stay there 'till the end of time."

But we were young and we both knew,
We drifted apart the more we grew.
What you soon said was my ultimate fear,
I stared into your eyes, as I blinked away my tears.

"Don't go" I begged. "Stay with me."
"Without you, what will MY life be?
You promised your heart will always beat with mine.
You promised to stay 'till the end of time."

This is dedicated to my ex boyfriend. I know you're not in love with me anymore, and I'm probably not IN love with you either. But I will always love you.
