My son

by MelindaJoy   Oct 23, 2004

You are the one
That I will always
Be there for
Never letting you be tattered or torn

For you are the one
That I adore
Never wanting any more
Cause you are perfect

In every way
I ask my self
May I do this?
May I do that?

No matter what I do
I do for you
Weather it is canoeing
Down the rapids

Or playing baseball
And catching your
First ball
Standing so tall

I don’t what to miss
This fact of life
Yet it’s going by so fast
I try to cast my line

And hold on
Pulling you in
And never letting go
Just holding on forever

Till my days run out
Counting all the wonderful
Times that we all shared
Not minding my own business

Cause I care
This world isn’t fair
Trying to tear you up
But Ill always be there

Talking you through the rough times
While your mind wonders
Not thinking that I know
When I’ve been there, done that too

Sometimes you might hate me
And call me unfair
Ill understand
As long as you’ll never do that again

Yes, my darling son
I do care
I love you with all my heart
Even if you fart

I changed my world for you
And watched you go through life
You’re worth everything to me
I gave up

Just watching you
Grow tall
I watch you fall
And help you up

I glad I have a son
Just like you
I remember the first time I holed you
And tears swelled in my eyes

You’ll be graduating soon
Probably with a blink of my eye
I just blinked once
And now look at you

You’re in big kids school
I refuse to blink once more
I aren’t letting anther time
Pass my thought

I’ve always been here
I always will
Even when the love of your life
Drops you like a thousand knifes

You are my world
My universe to me
Ill always be here
Never letting you

Pay the life
Of defeat and despair
Just turn the corner
And Ill always be there
